Quintiq, part of Dassault Systèmes, is looking for a Software R&D Project Manager.
Managing development projects for the core software requires good judgment. Consider it an interesting balancing act between scope, deadlines and quality. Your puzzle starts with the assembly and scheduling of your project team, consisting of testers, developers, architects and business representatives, all with one goal: to run a successful Quintiq project and produce great software. Development projects are preceded by research activities. Estimating the project effort and timeline is not always easy as 80% are new and 20% are known areas. Developers do not enjoy making estimations and setting deadlines, so social flexibility as well as leadership should be in your skill set.
‘Herding cats’ is an often used saying in managing our development projects. You will be expected to manage several projects at the same time. A strong contribution to the continuous improvement of our product development methodology and project management tools is expected from you. You have a background in project management in software development cycles. Industrializing best practices and feeding them back into our methodology should be one of your passions.
